After I had my daughter, I expected her hair to grow like mine—but that wasn’t the case. This led me to start learning about natural hair care, understanding what her hair truly needed, and how to care for it the right way. I was amazed by the results, and soon after, I began offering natural hair treatments and care to people around me.
As I continued this journey, I struggled to find salons that truly understood natural hair—spaces that would treat it with patience, knowledge, and genuine care.
In 2018, I decided to create that space.
I opened Binti Mabutu with a clear vision: to build the kind of salon I had been searching for—a place where natural hair is respected, where every client feels seen, and where care is never rushed. Over time, it has grown into something so much bigger than I imagined. Not just a salon, but a home for women to grow, to learn, and to feel confident in who they are.
